Let's get to work!
What is Energy Poverty?
What can we do?
13% of the global population still lacks access to modern electricity.
3 billion people rely on wood, coal, charcoal or animal waste for cooking and heating. Energy poverty is when people do not have access to modern forms of electricity. Solar power is a solution to energy poverty as it is a renewable resource. Energy poverty is an issue that is solvable within our lifetime. Energy poverty limits possible economic growth; limits access to many types of proper health care; limits the type and quality of education, which perpetrates the cycle of poverty; limits family and social connections. Energy poverty unfairly limits the futures of over 18% of our global population of men, women, and children.
